meso awareness products for web 150x150 Start a conversation about mesotheliomaThose of us who work to raise about , or who are facing the diagnosis for ourselves or with a loved one, tend to talk about it a lot. We corner people at gatherings and start warning them about the dangers of , or sharing the latest information about treatments and . We barely need an opening to start talking about .

But now it’s even easier. MyMeso.org has several items we’d love to share with you that will help open doors to conversation – bracelets, pens and water bottles, all emblazoned with the words “” and “.” We’d be happy to send you some of these to help you talk to other people about the dangers of asbestos exposure and the challenges facing those battling .

You can pretty much always count on seeing me with a bright blue bracelet now. If you don’t see it, it’s probably because I’ve given it away when someone asked me about it, so they will remember to look for information after we’ve parted. I leave meso pens in restaurants, hoping a curious diner after me will steal one and search to find out what it’s all about. I strike up conversations in the gym or at the park when someone sees my water bottle and asks, “what is that about?” It makes it really easy to spread the word!

Now you can help us raise ! You can have any of these items for FREE! Just send me an email and let me know what you need and where to send it. We will not share your information or use it for solicitation. We just want to help you help us share the news about this public health issue.

The more people we can educate about and danger, the closer we will come to securing funding for prevention, and solutions.

I lost my father to mesothelioma on October 11, 2008. I knew nothing about meso before, but my siblings and I are doing all we can to educate ourselves now. Daddy passed away 2 weeks and 4 days after diagnosis! It was absolutely shocking and horrible. I would love to have 3 bracelets for us to wear. Anything would be appreciated. God Bless You! Sherri

I was diagnosed with mesothelioma in February'09. They have told me that I should expect to live years with this (it is supposedly a milder strain, at it's infancy). I am very depressed, but am a fighter. My family is taking this poorly. I would like about 7 to 9 bracelets for my family and friends. My grandsons will love them, and my friends will be proud to sport theirs. My daughters will be touched. If you could throw in 3 water bottles and 3 or 4 pens while I teach (I'm a piano teacher), I would be so grateful. I will be happy to pay for these items. The good lord is smiling down at your efforts; what a selfless woman you are. You provide a ray of hope for those people condemned to a Death Sentance. I will be eternally grateful, and will use these items to educate the people around me about asbestos. Thanks so very much, Ruth
  • Hello Ruth,

Thank you so much for your kind comments. I would be more than happy to
send you some mesothelioma awareness materials. There is no charge for

God bless you and your family as you face this battle. We will be
praying for you all, and for continued strength and good health. Please
let me know if there is anything else I can do for you, or if there is
any information you are looking for, and I'll be happy to try to help.

    Blessings,

My darling husband died July 08 only 13 weeks after diagnosis and like Meisha we were in total shock, he was the most wonderful husband, father and grandfather, who is loved and missed with every passing day. He still had his whole life in front of him and to contact this insidious disease through going to work to provide for his family is so hard to bear, we were married for 42 years.

If you could please send me some bracelets I would really appreciate it. Here in England the epidemic has started and so I have joined the Chris Knighton Self Help Group who are raising funds and awareness into this evil as our Government does nothing.
    Thank you

In memory of my sweet cousin who died two years ago in her early 40's...in memory of her dad who died in his 30's from cancer...all related to him working and unknowingly bringing home asbestos...
please send anything but especially I would like about 12 bracelets for my family. God bless you.
  • Hello Donna,

Thank you so much for your comment here. It is a tragedy for a family to
be touched by asbestos disease once, and even moreso that you have lost
two loved ones to asbestos and mesothelioma. Our thoughts and prayers
are with you and your family!

    God bless you!

My husband passed away from mesothelioma on Dec. 21, 2008. It was truly a shock. He was told on Nov. 21, 2008. It didn't give us any time to prepare and things have not been easy. On top of his illness, we are expecting our first grandbaby on May 4, 2009. It has been a roller coster of emotions for us as I am sure it is for anyone that has to go through this. Mesothelioma is an evil illness and has taken so much from so many people. My husband was only 60 years old and worked hard all his life only to have his life pulled out from under him. He didn't get to retire or enjoy his granddaughter or his later years. I'm only 52 and a widow! We were married for 32 years and even though we had our ups and downs, we loved each other very much.
If you could send me some of the bracelets and a couple of the water bottles, I would really appreciate it. I hope that more people will be come aware of this demon, and hopefully someday, people won't have to go through what my husband and so many others have had to go through.. Thank you for your site and for the items. Please E-mail me and let me know how to get my home address to you so that you can send me these it items. Thank you
