One way to cure asbestos disease is to stop asbestos exposure. This can easily be achieved through cessation of mining.

Hi Tony,
Thank you so much for your comment - I'm glad you found the site helpful. That is interesting about your background with asbestos. I have not come across anything so far in my work with mesothelioma about a link between asbestos and cancer of the kidneys, but I will put that on my radar. I wish you the best with your treatment and hope to hear from you again!
Be well!
Wendi

Wendi, I'd like to take the opportunity to congratulate you to this informatiove blog. I am not affected by mesothelioma, however, I was diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma in October of 2009 - seven months after my wife got diagnosed with breast cancer.
According to my oncologist, my kidney cancer could have started already 20 years back ago. I wondered what back then could have potentially triggered the development of my cancer. And then I recalled that over rather long stretch of time used to help my father insulationg our house - with drywall-like asbestos sheets. I remember vividly that neither my father nor I wore any protection gear as we cut, trimmed and mounted the sheets on to the walls.
Of course, I do have no prove if my cancer was caused by the exposure to asbestos, like mesothelioma. But it could be a lead.
Anyway, thanks again for this great blog and please stop by my website if you like: www.mykidneycancer.com/mesothelioma
Thank you.
