Take Justice Back 100x100 Protect the right of asbestos victims by speaking out about FACT Act TODAY!The American Association for Justice (AAJ), through its new blog site, Take Justice Back, is asking the public to speak out to help protect the rights of asbestos victims. At issue is legislation currently before the U.S. Congress that would protect corporations that knowingly exposed workers to asbestos. Asbestos exposure is directly linked to the development of mesothelioma, a deadly cancer that affects the lining of the lungs or abdomen, and, rarely, the heart. There is no known cure for mesothelioma.

The legislation is H.R. 982: . According to information provided by the AAJ, “This bill threatens to delay justice and deny accountability until asbestos victims die. It also publicly reveals extensive personal information about asbestos victims, inviting invasions of privacy and possibly identity theft.”

Take Back Justice is featuring the stories of six asbestos victims in order to help raise awareness about mesothelioma and other asbestos diseases. The AAJ is making an urgent request, asking the public to contact their Congresspersons TODAY to speak out against this invasive legislation. The bill has been fast-tracked and is being pushed through the U.S. House Judiciary Committee RIGHT NOW.

An automatic contact form is available on the Take Back Justice website. Please send this form to your congressional representatives right now, or call their offices. Also, please share this information on social media like Facebook and Twitter to help spread the word! This is critical legislation and your voice can make a difference!
