The campaign, created by state Attorney General Maura Healey, will educate at-risk populations, including children, the elderly and low-income families, about protection from asbestos through a multi-faceted approach that partners state agencies with local school districts, according to a press release by the Attorney General’s Office. asbestos warning 100x100 UK schools plagued by asbestos safety concerns, report saysThe United Kingdom’s schools are facing a serious health crisis after a government report has found thousands of schools are failing to follow safety guidelines.

One-fifth of schools that responded to the government survey were found to be “not fully compliant” with asbestos procedures, according to The Telegraph, and of that fifth, 100 were deemed “a significant cause for concern” and required intervention. The Department for Education said it emailed schools and determined the asbestos issues are now safe. (more…)
